12 Who is the man who fears the LORD?
Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose.
(ESV)
22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, (ESV)
21 And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. (ESV)
8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
9 Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding,
which must be curbed with bit and bridle,
or it will not stay near you.
10 Many are the sorrows of the wicked,
but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the LORD.
11 Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, O righteous,
and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!
(ESV)
23 I know, O LORD, that the way of man is not in himself,
that it is not in man who walks to direct his steps.
(ESV)
24 If you lie down, you will not be afraid;
when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
(ESV)
37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. (ESV)
38 But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” (ESV)
6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. (ESV)
7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (ESV)
8 In peace I will both lie down and sleep;
for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.
(ESV)
2 It is in vain that you rise up early
and go late to rest,
eating the bread of anxious toil;
for he gives to his beloved sleep.
(ESV)
59 And as they were stoning Stephen, he called out, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” (ESV)
60 And falling to his knees he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep. (ESV)
8 Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. (ESV)
8 Keep my statutes and do them; I am the LORD who sanctifies you. (ESV)
24 But I have said to you, ‘You shall inherit their land, and I will give it to you to possess, a land flowing with milk and honey.’ I am the LORD your God, who has separated you from the peoples. (ESV)
26 You shall be holy to me, for I the LORD am holy and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be mine. (ESV)
1 Jude, a servant1 of Jesus Christ and brother of James,
To those who are called, beloved in God the Father and kept for2 Jesus Christ:
[1] 1:1
[2] 1:1
17 Sanctify them1 in the truth; your word is truth.
[1] 17:17
23 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (ESV)
12 So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood. (ESV)
13 waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, (ESV)
14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works. (ESV)
11 For he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one source.1 That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers,2
[1] 2:11
[2] 2:11
19 And for their sake I consecrate myself,1 that they also may be sanctified2 in truth.
[1] 17:19
[2] 17:19
2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood:
May grace and peace be multiplied to you. (ESV)
11 Light is sown1 for the righteous,
and joy for the upright in heart.
[1] 97:11
(ESV)
6 He who goes out weeping,
bearing the seed for sowing,
shall come home with shouts of joy,
bringing his sheaves with him.
(ESV)
37 And what you sow is not the body that is to be, but a bare kernel, perhaps of wheat or of some other grain. (ESV)
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, (ESV)
6 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, (ESV)
7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. (ESV)
11 Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see1 and be satisfied;
by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant,
make many to be accounted righteous,
and he shall bear their iniquities.
[1] 53:11
(ESV)
30 When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. (ESV)
21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (ESV)
10 so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. (ESV)
11 This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, (ESV)
7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. (ESV)
13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, (ESV)
14 who is the guarantee1 of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it,2 to the praise of his glory.
(ESV)9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. (ESV)
8 do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion,
on the day of testing in the wilderness,
(ESV)
13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. 14 But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. 15 Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death. (ESV)
14 But they had a wanton craving in the wilderness,
and put God to the test in the desert;
(ESV)
4 And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness 2 for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And he ate nothing during those days. And when they were ended, he was hungry. 3 The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” (ESV)
18 For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted. (ESV)
31 “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you,1 that he might sift you like wheat,
[1] 22:31
32 but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.” (ESV)
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
(ESV)
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. (ESV)
25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. (ESV)
27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; (ESV)
29 so that no human being1 might boast in the presence of God.
[1] 1:29
130 The unfolding of your words gives light;
it imparts understanding to the simple.
(ESV)
22 And all spoke well of him and marveled at the gracious words that were coming from his mouth. And they said, “Is not this Joseph's son?” (ESV)
46 The officers answered, “No one ever spoke like this man!” (ESV)
30 And because of him1 you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption,
[1] 1:30
4 For the day of vengeance was in my heart,
and my year of redemption1 had come.
[1] 63:4
(ESV)
10 And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you, when each of you shall return to his property and each of you shall return to his clan. (ESV)
19 Your dead shall live; their bodies shall rise.
You who dwell in the dust, awake and sing for joy!
For your dew is a dew of light,
and the earth will give birth to the dead.
(ESV)
16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. (ESV)
17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. (ESV)
14 Shall I ransom them from the power of Sheol?
Shall I redeem them from Death?
O Death, where are your plagues?
O Sheol, where is your sting?
Compassion is hidden from my eyes.
(ESV)
34 Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name. He will surely plead their cause, that he may give rest to the earth, but unrest to the inhabitants of Babylon. (ESV)
6 There are many who say, “Who will show us some good?
Lift up the light of your face upon us, O LORD!”
(ESV)
16 But I will sing of your strength;
I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.
For you have been to me a fortress
and a refuge in the day of my distress.
(ESV)
6 As for me, I said in my prosperity,
“I shall never be moved.”
7 By your favor, O LORD,
you made my mountain stand strong;
you hid your face;
I was dismayed.
8 To you, O LORD, I cry,
and to the Lord I plead for mercy:
9 “What profit is there in my death,1
if I go down to the pit?2
Will the dust praise you?
Will it tell of your faithfulness?
10 Hear, O LORD, and be merciful to me!
O LORD, be my helper!”
(ESV)
8 In overflowing anger for a moment
I hid my face from you,
but with everlasting love I will have compassion on you,”
says the LORD, your Redeemer.
(ESV)
20 Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy. (ESV)
5 For his anger is but for a moment,
and his favor is for a lifetime.1
Weeping may tarry for the night,
but joy comes with the morning.
[1] 30:5
(ESV)
3 When Adam had lived 130 years, he fathered a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth. (ESV)
3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body1 and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.2
(ESV)14 For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am of the flesh, sold under sin. (ESV)
15 For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate. (ESV)
18 For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. (ESV)
12 Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men1 because all sinned—
[1] 5:12
19 For as by the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous. (ESV)
15 But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man's trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. (ESV)
2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you1 free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
[1] 8:2
57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (ESV)
